Ajit Jaokar

Ajit Jaokar is the founder of the London based publishing and research company futuretext focussed on emerging Web and Mobile technologies.

His thinking is widely followed in the industry and his blog, The OpenGardensBlog, was recently rated a top 20 wireless blog worldwide and he is best known for his books Mobile Web 2.0, Social Media Marketing. Two more books ('Open Mobile' and 'Beyond Web 2.0 – Web 3.0 and the Internet of Things') are being released in 2009.

His consulting activities include working with companies to define value propositions across the device, network, Web and Social networking stack spanning both technology and strategy. He has worked with a range of commercial and government organizations globally including The European Union, Telecoms Operators, Device manufacturers, social networking companies and security companies in various strategic and visionary roles

Ajit chairs Oxford University's Next generation mobile applications panel and conducts a course on Mobile Web 2.0 and LTE services at Oxford University.

Ajit lives in London, UK, but has three nationalities (British, Indian and New Zealander) and is proud of all three. He is currently doing a PhD on Identity and Reputation systems at UCL in London Ajit is a fan of animation and cartoons - especially Tom and Jerry , Tintin, Asterix and Snoopy/Charles Schulz. He writes most of his books to the background of music from his favourite band ZZ Top and other guitar bands. Brian Jacobs, Director, BJ&A Ltd.

Brian Jacobs has spent over 38 years in advertising and media agencies, at Leo Burnett (where he was UK Media Director, European Media Director, both based in London, and International Media Director, based in Chicago); at Carat International, (Managing Director), and at Universal McCann (EMEA Regional Director). In 2003 he joined Millward Brown (part of WPP's Kantar Group), where he set up and established that organisation's Global Media Practice.

Brian Jacobs started his career in media research before moving into media planning and management. Over his career, he has worked for many leading marketers, including Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, McDonald's, Kellogg's, Nestle, Volkswagen, and Unilever. Brian started Brian Jacobs and Associates Ltd (BJ&A), a virtual communications consultancy (www.bjanda.com) in 2006. Since launch, BJ&A's clients have included Johnson and Johnson, Bacardi Global Brands, The Newspaper Marketing Agency, Initiative, the computer games start-up Supermassive Games, the analytics business Xtract and the buzz monitoring service, Whitevector.

Brian Jacobs is a regular contributor to conferences and to trade papers. He is co-author, with the late Dr Simon Broadbent of the UK standard text on media planning, buying and research: 'Spending Advertising Money'.
Brian was voted a Fellow of the UK Institute of Practitioners in Advertising in 1985.

Alan Moore

Alan Moore is the co-author of Communities Dominate Brands: Business and Marketing Challenges for the 21st Century. The founder of the communication consultancy SMLXL, Alan is the originator of the term, philosophy, and principles of Engagement Marketing and Communications. His writing and work has provided an international platform for him to address radio, television, conference, and digital audiences globally. He is an executive director of Mass Niche Media, a board director of the Social Marketing Intelligence Company Xtract (http://xtract.com), and sits on the advisory board of the IPR and patent company CVON. He has taught mobile commerce and communications at the Oxford University for Continuing Education. SMLXL has extensive knowledge and experience in how to engage and inspire people and companies with the possibilities of Engagement Marketing. SMLXL enables companies and brands to better engage with each other. For example, Alan has been credited with having a significant influence on how Nokia has evolved its practice of marketing towards a more engaged approach. Alan's unique experience enables him to provide inspiration and strategies for how businesses can prepare themselves for the challenges ahead, driven by the evolution of media, technology, communications, and commerce.

Jouko Ahvenainen

Jouko Ahvenainen (www.joukoahvenainen.com) is Co-founder of Xtract Ltd. Jouko has 15 years experience in international business management.

Before his serial entrepreneur career Jouko held progressively senior positions at diverse technology firms including Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Powerwave Technologies Inc., Nokia, and Sonera in various sales, executive and management consulting positions. In all roles he has been a key driver to create new business. He is one of the pioneers in social media marketing, and personally had significant role to develop and sell the first social marketing intelligence solutions for mobile and media companies. He has also large traditional marketing experience, starting from some well known political campaigns in mid 1990's. Jouko has vast experience of international business in Asia, Europe, and North America; he has lived and worked in Finland, Malaysia, UK, and the U.S. Jouko has worked in teams to close several VC deals (from 150k USD to 15M USD), and also closed many large customer deals and been responsible for 40M USD annual revenue.

He started his first own software business when he was 16-year-old. Jouko also serves as a Senior Partner at Replicon, a financial and business services company, where he is also a Certified Adviser in Nasdaq OMX First North list at Helsinki and Stockholm stock exchanges. Jouko is on the boards of various startup companies, and is a co-founder or seed investor in six companies (e.g. www.growvc.com). Jouko is a regular speaker in many marketing, start-up funding,mobile and web 2.0 conferences including Mobile World Congress (Barcelona), CTIA (San Francisco), and several Informa's, IIR's and others' conferences around Europe, Asia, and the US. Jouko lives near London. He holds an MBA from Helsinki School of Economics, a joint program with McCombs School of Business, at the University of Texas, Austin and a M.Sc.(Tech.) from Helsinki University of Technology.
